LC House emerges from a way of living, represented in an architecturethat expresses a manner of being. In order to avoid verticalization, theresidence is organized on two stories that stand at different levelsfrom the natural terrain. As a result, an exercise of horizontality isgenerated, producing a strong paralel line with the ground, enhancingits relationship with the house. This operation creates a newconfiguration that makes a difference from the original urban outline.
The general layout was based on the construction of two equal concreteflat slabs. The first of them, detached from the ground, contains thesocial area, the master suite and the gallery regarded as the mainmeeting point of the residence. Below them, there is a more private andprotected area, including a TV room, the kids´ bedrooms and the garage. The double height dominated by the stairs, expresses the connectionbetween spaces.
With the aim of optimizing internal views, the house was placed lengthwise on the highest part of the residential area, so that all the social and private spaces face the northwest, including the deck and the
swimming pool, which are positioned at ground level. Thus, the project consists of two horizontal bands and an intricate interplay of glass, wood, and concrete in terms of its formal design.
