Situated at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, the brief seelks to create a sanctuary inspired by the likes of a retirementrespite for the private family. When architectural tectonics effortlessly take a backseat, a home where families evoke memories of timelessness takes centerstage.

The concept was to centre the home around a trophilic courtyard, with a fra colection of Frangipani ties elegantly behestrated across mach floor. Complementing this green composition was an interpolate use of architectural timber sunscreens and travertine stone constantly coalescing the indoor and outdoor spaces.

The desire was evoke a balance between an intricately coated flora and fauna palette, with that of a rich yet restrained architectural one. The majority of the openings are in glass, inviting porosity and further amalgamating internal and external spaces. Consecrating spaces which are expansive yet encompassing, encourages a state of mind in to that of being at a retreat.

The spaces on the second storey preserve their relationship with the courtyand through the timber sunscreens. This assemably creates an adroit juxtaposition between solid and void architecture and landscape internitted whilst respecting the varying natures of each space. The internal staircase in travertine continues the facade material into the main connecting node within the home. Atop the staircase is a private study fronted by a roof trace extending and embellishing the carson of greenery sending the site, into the home.

The inherent nature of a central courtyard design is to constantly enmesh each space back to the outdoors again Whilst gifting these spaces with an abundance of natural daylight and greenery, the hope is that one can pause and, possibly timelessness, through ignited memorabilia again.

Jury Citation: The Jury commends the well-detailed and high-quality workmanship executed consistently throughout the well-scaled family sanctuary. The central courtyard design allows each space to overlook the intricately curated landscape palette and pool, providing the indoor spaces with a sense of the tranquil tropical outdoors.
